How to apply for the Revvi card: the four steps and what to check first
Who can apply, how the program fee works, and the terms to read before you accept the card

The Revvi card is an unsecured Visa credit card for people with less-than-perfect credit, issued by MRV Banks. Its application works differently from most credit cards: if you’re approved, you pay a one-time program fee before your account opens. This guide walks through the four application steps, what to check before you accept, and how to use the card once it’s open.
Who can apply
To apply, you must be a U.S. resident at least 18 years old with a street address, since P.O. boxes aren’t accepted. The card isn’t available to New York residents. Approval isn’t guaranteed, and your credit limit, if you’re approved, will be between $200 and $500.
The application asks whether you have an active checking account. You can also choose to share your bank account information so Revvi can consider it along with your credit score, which may help if your credit history is thin.
The four steps to apply
- Start the application. Enter your name, email, street address, phone number and whether you have a checking account on Revvi’s website. If you received an offer in the mail, use the Accept Mail Offer option instead.
- Continue the application. Add the rest of your personal and financial information, review the Rates, Fees, Costs and Limitations document and submit the application to get a credit decision.
- Choose a card design. The standard design is free. A premium design costs up to $10, charged to your account, which reduces your available credit.
- Pay the $95 program fee. If you’re approved, you pay this one-time fee before the account is opened. Once it’s processed, you can activate and start using the card.
Before you accept the card
Your first-year annual fee, between $50 and $125 depending on your credit limit, is charged to the card when the account opens. That means your available credit starts lower than your limit. On a $200 limit, for example, you begin with about $150 to spend. From the second year, a monthly servicing fee of $6.25 to $10.25 is added, along with a $48 annual fee.
Two terms are worth reading closely. First, the cardholder agreement includes a binding arbitration clause, so disputes are resolved through arbitration instead of in court. Second, you have a right to reject the account: if you haven’t used the card or made a payment after receiving a billing statement, you can cancel and get the program fee and initial fees refunded.
Terms checked in September 2026 from Revvi’s Rates, Fees, Costs and Limitations document. Review the full terms shown during the application before you accept the card.
Using your Revvi card
Once your account is active, you can activate the card through Revvi’s website and manage it in the Revvi mobile app for iOS and Android or the online customer center. There you can make payments, check your balance and rewards, and see participating merchants.
Keep in mind where the card works. It can only be used in the United States, for purchases in U.S. dollars. It can’t be used for gambling or at automated fuel pumps, so at gas stations you’ll need to pay inside.
Every dollar you pay toward your balance earns 1 rewards point, and participating merchants may offer extra rewards. After six months, you can redeem points in blocks of 500 for a $5 statement credit.
Credit limit and increases
Your starting limit is set at approval, between $200 and $500. After your account has been open for at least 12 billing cycles, it may be reviewed for a credit limit increase, either on Revvi’s initiative or at your request. If you accept an increase, you pay a fee of 25% of the added amount. A $100 increase, for example, adds a $25 charge to your account and gives you $75 in extra available credit.

Our take on the Revvi card
The Revvi card gives people with damaged or limited credit an unsecured card that reports to all three bureaus, with a small reward for making payments. The costs are high for a limit of $500 or less, and the card only works in the U.S. Before paying the program fee, compare it with a secured card, which is often cheaper. If you go ahead, pay in full and on time every month so the fees are the only cost you carry.
