How to apply for the Capital One Quicksilver
Checking eligibility, getting the bonus and setting up your card

The Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card is a no-annual-fee card that earns a flat 1.5% cash back on every purchase. This guide covers who the card suits, how to check your eligibility and apply, how your credit limit works and what to set up once you’re approved.
Who is the Quicksilver card for?
The Quicksilver suits people who want the same cash back rate on everything, without tracking categories or activating offers. Groceries, gas, online shopping and subscriptions all earn 1.5%, so it works well as a card for everyday spending.
It’s also a good fit if you’re planning a larger purchase or want to move a balance, thanks to the 15-month 0% intro APR, or if you travel abroad, since there are no foreign transaction fees. Capital One lists the card for applicants with excellent credit.

How to apply for the Quicksilver card
- On the Quicksilver page on Capital One’s website, select Check My Eligibility. You’ll see offers you may qualify for in about 90 seconds, with no impact on your credit score.
- If you want the $200 bonus, apply through the Apply Now button on the card’s page. Capital One says the bonus may not be available if you navigate away from that page.
- Fill in the application with your personal and financial information, including your Social Security number, home address and estimated gross annual income.
- Review the rates, fees and terms, then submit your application.
Submitting a full application usually results in a hard inquiry on your credit report. If you’ve received a new cardmember bonus for the Quicksilver in the past 48 months, you won’t be eligible for it again.
What is the credit card limit?
Your credit limit is set when you’re approved, based on your credit profile and income. Capital One doesn’t publish a minimum or typical limit for the Quicksilver.
After a period of on-time payments and responsible use, you can request a credit line increase through Capital One’s website or mobile app, and Capital One may also review your account for an increase on its own. An increase isn’t guaranteed.
After you’re approved
Download the Capital One mobile app to track spending, check your balance, make payments and redeem rewards. Then take care of two things early on:
- Reach the $500 bonus requirement within 3 months through your normal spending, without buying things you wouldn’t otherwise buy.
- If you’re using the intro APR, divide your balance by 15 to see the monthly payment that clears it before the standard rate applies.

Opinion about the card
The Quicksilver offers simple, predictable rewards with no annual fee, an easy welcome bonus and a useful intro APR. Check your eligibility first, apply through the card’s page if you want the bonus, and pay your balance in full once the intro period ends so interest doesn’t cancel out your 1.5%.
