The Milestone® Mastercard® is an unsecured credit card for people with bad, limited or no credit, issued by The Bank of Missouri and serviced by Concora Credit. This guide focuses on the practical side: what the card really costs over time, who can apply, how the application works and what to expect after you’re approved.

What the card costs over time

Milestone doesn’t publish its fees on its public website, and terms vary by offer. On the most common offer reported in 2026, the costs look like this:

  • Year one: a $175 annual fee, charged to the card when the account opens
  • Year two onward: a $49 annual fee plus a $12.50 monthly fee, or about $199 a year
  • Purchase APR: 35.9%, on any balance you don’t pay in full
  • Credit limit: usually $700, though some offers start lower

In practice, a $700 limit leaves you about $525 to spend in the first year, because the fee is already on your balance. If you carry that $175 without paying it off, it also starts accruing interest. Before accepting any offer, check the exact fees and limit shown in your terms.

Terms checked in September 2026. Review the full terms shown during the application before you accept the card.

Is this card the right choice?

The Milestone Mastercard can make sense if all of these apply to you:

  • You’ve been turned down for other credit cards, including secured cards
  • You can’t set aside money for a security deposit
  • You can pay the full balance every month, so the APR doesn’t add to your costs

If you can afford a deposit, a secured card with no annual fee is usually a cheaper way to build credit, and you get the deposit back when you close the account in good standing or upgrade. Some cardholders also report that the Milestone credit limit stays the same over time, which limits how useful the card becomes.

Requirements to apply

According to Milestone, to be approved you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid Social Security number, a physical address and a U.S. IP address
  • Not have had a Milestone Mastercard account charged off due to delinquency
  • Meet additional credit criteria, including a review of your income, your debts and identity verification

Approval isn’t guaranteed, and you can have only one Milestone Mastercard account. Under federal law, applicants under 21 must also show enough independent income to make the payments.

How to apply for the Milestone® Mastercard®

  1. Go to Milestone’s official website. If you received an offer in the mail, use the Get My Offer option instead of the standard application.
  2. Complete the online form with your name, address, date of birth, Social Security number and income. There’s no option to apply by phone.
  3. Review the offer, including the annual fee, monthly fee, APR and credit limit, before you accept.
  4. Wait for the decision. If you’re not approved, no hard inquiry appears on your credit report, so your score isn’t affected.

After you’re approved

In most cases, the card arrives within 14 business days of approval. If it hasn’t arrived within 21 days, call the Lost/Stolen Department at 1-800-314-6340.

Once the card arrives, create a login on Milestone’s online account site to manage your account and pay your bill. Set up a way to pay on time every month, since your payment history is what gets reported to the credit bureaus. If you plan to use the card outside the U.S., call customer service first to set a travel alert, or foreign transactions may be declined.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Milestone Mastercard have an annual fee?

Milestone doesn’t publish information about credit limit increases, and some cardholders report that their limit stays the same. Contact customer service to ask whether your account is eligible.
Does the card offer rewards or extra benefits?
No rewards. The card includes Mastercard ID Theft Protection™, which monitors your personal information, and Zero Liability protection for unauthorized transactions.
Can I get a cash advance?

Can I transfer a balance?

Our take on the Milestone® Mastercard®

The Milestone Mastercard gives people with damaged or limited credit access to an unsecured card and a way to build payment history. You pay for that access in fees that add up to roughly $175 to $199 a year on the common offer. Treat it as a short-term tool: pay in full every month, and after a year of on-time payments, check whether you qualify for a card without these costs.
