The Truist Enjoy Cash Visa® Credit Card, formerly known as the Truist Cash Rewards card, is a no-annual-fee cash back card from Truist Bank. Its main feature is a choice you make when you apply: you can earn higher rates on gas, groceries and utilities, or a flat 1.5% on everything.

The card also offers a 0% intro APR for 12 months and has no foreign transaction fees. If you bank with Truist, you can boost your rewards with a loyalty bonus. Below, we explain how the two rewards options work, what the card costs and who it suits.

Two ways to earn cash back

When you apply, you pick one of two rewards structures:

  • Option 1: 3% cash back on gas and EV charging, 2% on groceries and utilities, and 1% on all other eligible purchases. The 3% and 2% rates apply to up to $1,000 in combined purchases each month, then drop to 1% for the rest of the month.
  • Option 2: 1.5% cash back on all eligible purchases, with no limit.

You can’t change your choice later, so it’s worth running the numbers first. As a rough guide, Option 1 tends to pay more if a large share of your spending goes to gas, groceries and utilities. Option 2 is simpler and pays more if your spending is spread across many categories or regularly goes past the $1,000 monthly cap.

Bonus categories follow merchant codes. Groceries bought at gas stations, drugstores or convenience stores earn 1%, and so does gas bought at supermarkets, convenience stores or warehouse clubs. Utilities include phone, cable, streaming, electric, gas, water and sanitary services.

The Loyalty Cash Bonus

If you redeem your cash back by depositing it into an eligible Truist checking, savings or money market account, you get a Loyalty Cash Bonus of 10% on top of the redemption. Customers with certain Truist checking accounts can get 20% to 50%, depending on their combined deposit and investment balances with the bank. The top 50% tier requires $100,000 or more in eligible balances.

You don’t need a Truist bank account to get the card. The bonus only applies when you redeem into a Truist deposit account.

The card is issued by Truist Bank, Member FDIC.

Managing the card

You manage the card through Truist’s online banking and mobile app, where you can make payments, view statements, redeem rewards and set customizable card controls for added security. The card supports contactless payments and mobile wallets, and Visa’s Zero Liability policy protects you against unauthorized use if you notify Truist promptly.

Our take on the Truist Enjoy Cash card

The Truist Enjoy Cash card is a flexible no-annual-fee option, and the ability to choose your rewards structure is unusual among cash back cards. The lack of foreign transaction fees and penalty APR also sets it apart from many competitors.

It delivers the most value to Truist bank customers, since the loyalty bonus can raise your effective return, especially at higher balance tiers. If you don’t bank with Truist, the card still works, but other no-annual-fee cards may pay more on a flat-rate basis. And since the standard APR is high, it works best if you pay your balance in full once the intro period ends.

You can check whether you’re pre-qualified on Truist’s website without affecting your credit. All credit cards are subject to credit approval.
