The Mission Lane Visa® Credit Card is an unsecured credit card for people with fair or limited credit. You don’t need a security deposit, you can check whether you’ll be approved without affecting your credit score, and the card has a simpler fee structure than many cards in this segment: an annual fee that can be as low as $0 and no monthly or program fees.

Mission Lane has reorganized its lineup over the past few years, so you may also see its unsecured card for fair credit listed as the Mission Lane Green Line Visa®. Below, we explain how the card works, what it costs and who it makes sense for.

How the Mission Lane Visa® works

The card works like a regular credit card: you make purchases, receive a monthly statement and pay at least the minimum due. Because it’s unsecured, you don’t put money down upfront. Mission Lane reports your account to all three major credit bureaus, so on-time payments can help you build a positive payment history.

Before applying, you can see whether you’ll be approved with no impact to your credit score. Your offer, including the annual fee, APR and credit limit, depends on your credit profile and is shown to you before you complete the application.

Mission Lane also reviews accounts for credit line increases over time. With on-time payments, that can give you more room to spend and help lower your credit utilization.

Pros of the Mission Lane Visa®

  • No security deposit required
  • Annual fee can be $0, depending on your offer
  • No program, setup or monthly maintenance fees
  • You can check whether you’ll be approved without affecting your credit score

Cons of the Mission Lane Visa®

  • High variable APR, especially at the top of the range
  • No rewards program on this version of the card
  • Starting credit limit may be low
  • 3% foreign transaction fee

Mission Lane Visa® rates and fees

  • Annual fee: $0 to $59, depending on your offer
  • Purchase APR: variable, calculated by adding a margin of 12.49% to 26.49% to the Prime Rate. Recent offers have ranged from 19.99% to 33.99%.
  • Security deposit: none
  • Foreign transaction fee: 3%
  • Minimum interest charge: $0.50

If your offer includes an annual fee, it’s charged at the end of the first billing cycle in which you use the card, and it reduces your available credit. If you change your mind, the terms let you reject the account as long as you haven’t used it or paid a fee after receiving a statement.

Interest on purchases can be avoided entirely by paying your full balance by the due date, which is at least 23 days after each billing cycle closes. Cash advances start accruing interest on the day you take them.

Terms checked in September 2026. Mission Lane shows your exact annual fee, APR and credit limit before you finish the application, so review them carefully before you accept.

About Mission Lane and TAB Bank

Mission Lane is a financial technology company, not a bank. Its credit cards are issued by partner banks, and the Mission Lane Visa® is issued by Transportation Alliance Bank, Inc., known as TAB Bank, an FDIC-insured bank based in Ogden, Utah. Mission Lane LLC services the account, handling customer service, payments and the app. Your cardholder agreement names the issuing bank for your account.

Mission Lane also offers a secured card for people who need to establish credit and cards with cash back rewards for applicants with stronger credit.

The Mission Lane app

You manage the card through the Mission Lane app for iOS and Android or on Mission Lane’s website. There you can make payments, set up payment reminders, check your balance and follow your credit score. If your card is lost or stolen, you’re protected against unauthorized transactions.

Our take on the Mission Lane Visa®

The Mission Lane Visa® is one of the more affordable unsecured options for people with fair or limited credit. Checking your approval odds doesn’t affect your score, and if your offer comes with a $0 annual fee, the card costs nothing to keep as long as you pay in full.

The main risk is the APR. At the top of the range, carrying a balance gets expensive quickly, so it works best if you pay your statement in full every month. If you’re offered a higher annual fee, compare it with a secured card that has no annual fee before accepting.

Approval isn’t guaranteed and depends on your credit profile.

In the next article, we walk through how to apply for the Mission Lane Visa® Credit Card.
