Chase Ink Business Preferred®: rewards for business owners
A rewards card for businesses that already spend in its bonus categories
The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card from Chase is a business rewards card with a $95 annual fee. It earns 3 points per dollar in categories many businesses spend on regularly, such as shipping, online advertising, internet and phone services, and travel, and it has no foreign transaction fees.

The card also has a large welcome bonus, but reaching it requires significant spending in the first three months. Below, we explain how the rewards work, what the card costs and which businesses get the most out of it.
How you earn points
- 3 points per dollar on the first $150,000 spent each account anniversary year on combined purchases in these categories: shipping; advertising with social media sites and search engines; internet, cable and phone services; and travel
- 1 point per dollar on all other purchases, with no limit
After you reach $150,000 in the 3X categories in a year, those purchases earn 1 point per dollar until your next account anniversary. Through September 30, 2027, qualifying Lyft rides booked in the Lyft app earn a total of 5 points per dollar.
Points don’t expire while your account is open. Employee cards come at no additional cost, let you set individual spending limits and earn points on the account.
The card also includes at least 12 months of complimentary DashPass when you activate it by December 31, 2027, plus up to $10 off one non-restaurant DoorDash order each month while you’re enrolled.
Welcome bonus
New cardmembers can earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. The bonus posts 6 to 8 weeks after you qualify. Chase notes that the bonus may not be available if you’ve ever had this card, and it may consider factors related to your business when deciding eligibility.
Plan the spending before you apply. $8,000 in three months is about $2,700 a month, which is easy for some businesses and a stretch for others. Spending more than you normally would just to reach a bonus rarely pays off.
How to use your points
Points are part of the Chase Ultimate Rewards® program. You can redeem them for cash back as a statement credit or direct deposit with no minimum, gift cards, travel or purchases through Ultimate Rewards, including Apple products. Redemption values vary by option.
You can also transfer points to Chase’s airline and hotel partners, including United MileagePlus®, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards®, Air Canada Aeroplan, Flying Blue, Marriott Bonvoy® and World of Hyatt. Starting October 1, 2026, transfers to World of Hyatt move to a 4:3 ratio, so 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points become 750 Hyatt points. Check current ratios in the Ultimate Rewards portal before transferring.
Travel and purchase protections
When you pay with the card, you get several built-in protections:
- Trip cancellation and interruption insurance of up to $5,000 per traveler and $10,000 per trip for prepaid, non-refundable travel expenses
- Auto rental coverage that’s primary when you rent for business purposes, up to $60,000 for theft and collision damage on most vehicles
- Cell phone protection of up to $1,000 per claim when you pay your phone bill with the card, with a $100 deductible and up to 3 claims in 12 months
- Purchase protection for 120 days against damage or theft, up to $10,000 per item (90 days for New York residents)
- Extended warranty that adds one year to eligible manufacturer’s warranties of three years or less
Restrictions, limitations and exclusions apply, and full details are in the card’s Guide to Benefits.

About Chase
The card is issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., part of JPMorgan Chase & Co., the largest bank in the United States. Chase traces its history back to 1799 and offers banking, lending and credit card products for individuals and businesses.
As a business card, the Ink Business Preferred helps your company build its own credit history. Keep in mind that you, as the authorizing officer, and the business are both responsible for repaying the balance, including charges made by employees.
Managing the card
You manage the card through Chase online and the Chase Mobile® app. You can view account details, quarterly reports and up to 24 months of statements, set up account alerts, add employee cards with spending limits, redeem points and connect the card to bookkeeping software to keep business and personal expenses separate.
Our take on the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card
The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card is a strong fit for businesses that spend steadily on shipping, online advertising, telecom services or travel, and that can meet the $8,000 bonus requirement through normal spending. The flexible points and transfer partners add value if you travel.
If most of your business spending falls outside those categories, you’ll earn only 1 point per dollar, and a no-annual-fee business card may be a better fit. And like any rewards card, it pays off only if you pay the balance in full, since there’s no intro APR and interest would quickly outweigh the points.
Approval is subject to Chase’s credit review.
