The Revvi card is an unsecured Visa credit card for people with less-than-perfect credit, issued by MRV Banks. It doesn’t require a security deposit, reports to all three major credit bureaus and pays 1% back on the payments you make toward your balance.

The card’s costs are high compared with its credit limit, which ranges from $200 to $500. Below, we explain how the card works, what you’ll actually pay and when it makes sense to consider it.

How the Revvi card works

If your application is approved, you pay a one-time $95 program fee before the account is opened. After that, the card works like a regular credit card for purchases in the U.S. Your payments are reported monthly to TransUnion, Experian and Equifax, so paying on time can help you build a positive payment history.

There are important limits on where you can use it. According to Revvi’s terms, the card can’t be used outside the United States, for charges in a foreign currency, for gambling or at automated fuel pumps. The card is also not available to New York residents.

How Revvi rewards work

Revvi has two rewards programs, and both pay out as statement credits:

  • Payment rewards: 1 point for every dollar you pay toward your balance, which works out to 1% back on payments
  • Merchant rewards: extra rewards at a limited list of participating merchants, with rates of up to 10% that vary by merchant and can change at any time

You can only redeem in blocks of 500 points, each worth a $5 statement credit. Payment rewards can be redeemed only after the account has been open for at least six months and is in good standing. Merchant rewards can take up to 120 days to become available. Redeemed credits don’t count toward your minimum payment, and you lose any unredeemed points if the account is closed.

To put the payment rewards in perspective, paying $100 a month earns about $12 in a year, which is small next to the card’s annual and monthly fees.

Pros of the Revvi card

  • No security deposit required
  • Monthly reporting to all three major credit bureaus
  • 1% back on payments, plus merchant rewards
  • Free credit monitoring powered by TransUnion®

Cons of the Revvi card

  • $95 program fee, plus an annual fee and, after the first year, a monthly servicing fee
  • 35.99% APR on purchases and cash advances
  • Low credit limit, between $200 and $500
  • Can’t be used outside the U.S. or for purchases in a foreign currency

Revvi card rates and fees

  • Program fee: $95, paid once before the account opens
  • Annual fee: $50 to $125 in the first year, depending on your credit limit, then $48 a year
  • Monthly servicing fee: none in the first year, then $6.25 to $10.25 a month ($75 to $123 a year), depending on your credit limit
  • Purchase APR: 35.99%
  • Cash advance APR: 35.99%
  • Cash advance fee: none in the first year, then $10 or 3% of each advance, whichever is greater
  • Late payment and returned payment fees: up to $41 each
  • Additional card: $29 a year
  • Premium card design: up to $10, one time
  • Credit limit increase fee: 25% of the increase, after the account has been open for a year
  • Express card delivery: $35

Here’s what that means in practice. With a $300 limit, you pay the $95 program fee upfront, and the $75 first-year annual fee is charged to the card, leaving about $225 to spend. From the second year on, you’d pay $48 in annual fees plus $99 in monthly servicing fees, or $147 a year.

Terms checked in September 2026 from Revvi’s Rates, Fees, Costs and Limitations document. Review the full terms shown during the application before you accept the card.

About MRV Banks

The Revvi card is issued by MRV Banks under a license from Visa. Before you accept the card, note that the cardholder agreement includes a binding arbitration clause, which means disputes are resolved through arbitration instead of in court, and you give up the right to join a class action. The terms explain how to opt out when you receive the agreement.

If you change your mind after approval, Revvi’s terms say you can reject the account and get your program fee and initial fees refunded, as long as you haven’t used the card or made a payment after receiving a billing statement.

The Revvi app

The Revvi mobile app, available for iOS and Android, lets you manage your account, make payments, check your rewards balance, see participating merchants and redeem points. You can also manage your account through Revvi’s online customer center.

Our take on the Revvi card

The Revvi card can be an option if you have damaged or limited credit, have been turned down for other cards and can’t put down a security deposit. It reports to all three bureaus, which is what you need to build a payment history.

It’s an expensive way to do that. Between the program fee, annual fee and monthly servicing fees, you’ll pay well over $100 a year for a limit of $500 or less, and the rewards won’t come close to covering those costs. If you can afford a deposit, a secured card with no annual fee is usually cheaper, and you get the deposit back when you close the account in good standing or upgrade.

If you do get the Revvi card, pay in full and on time every month, keep your balance low and check your credit after a year to see whether you qualify for a card with lower costs. Approval isn’t guaranteed.
